As a One Warwick Park wedding photographer, I love photographing celebrations here because the venue works so well for a relaxed, documentary approach alongside a handful of beautifully considered portraits.

Getting Married at One Warwick Park

Located in the heart of Royal Tunbridge Wells, One Warwick Park is a contemporary wedding venue with a sophisticated feel. Its clean architectural lines, elegant interiors and carefully designed spaces provide a wonderful backdrop for wedding photographs.

From the anticipation of getting ready through to your ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and evening celebrations, there are opportunities for photographs that tell the complete story of your day.

For me, the best wedding photographs aren’t just about how the venue looks. They’re about how your wedding felt — the nervous excitement before the ceremony, the hugs with family, the laughter with friends and those quiet moments together that you might otherwise miss.

One Warwick Park Wedding Photography That Feels Like You

Your wedding day doesn’t need to revolve around your photographer.

My approach to One Warwick Park wedding photography is relaxed, unobtrusive and focused on genuine moments. I’ll give you direction when it’s helpful, particularly when it comes to portraits, but otherwise I’ll let you enjoy the day while documenting it as it naturally unfolds.

That means capturing the big moments alongside all the little ones:

  • The excitement and nerves while you’re getting ready
  • Your first look as you walk down the aisle
  • The reactions of your family and friends
  • Confetti, congratulations and champagne
  • Natural photographs during your drinks reception
  • Beautiful portraits of the two of you
  • The details you’ve spent months choosing
  • Speeches, laughter and emotional moments
  • Your first dance and the celebrations that follow

The result is a collection of photographs that feels authentic to your wedding rather than overly posed or staged.

One of the things I love about photographing weddings at One Warwick Park is the variety the venue offers throughout the day.

The elegant interiors provide a sophisticated backdrop for getting-ready photographs and portraits, while the surrounding streets and architecture of Tunbridge Wells can offer a change of scene when you’re looking for something a little more relaxed.

Wedding photography isn’t just about finding the prettiest backdrop. It’s about using the environment to complement your story and creating photographs that will still feel meaningful years from now.

Your Couple Portraits at One Warwick Park

If you’re not naturally comfortable having your photograph taken, you’re certainly not alone.

Couple portraits don’t need to involve spending an hour posing for the camera. I keep this part of the day relaxed and natural, giving you a little space to enjoy being together while creating photographs that feel effortless.

We’ll make the most of the venue and its surroundings, looking for beautiful light, interesting architecture and quieter moments away from your guests.

The aim is simple: beautiful photographs without feeling like you’re on a photoshoot all day.

Advice for couples getting married at One Warwick Park

    • Make the most of the Function Room. It’s essentially a blank canvas, with exposed beams, vaulted ceilings and fairy lighting. Decide early on whether you want to emphasise the rustic character or make it feel more contemporary.

    • Don’t underestimate the value of everyone staying over. With 39 bedrooms, you can turn the wedding into more of a weekend experience. Encourage key guests to stay rather than having everyone disappear into taxis immediately after the reception.

    • Build in time for photographs around Tunbridge Wells. The hotel is close to The Pantiles, and the town-centre setting gives you opportunities beyond just photographs inside the venue. I’d specifically ask your photographer to scout the hotel, Pantiles and surrounding streets beforehand.

    • Use the Atrium as part of the experience. It’s light-filled and works particularly well for drinks and photographs, so don’t let the whole day become “ceremony → Function Room → dinner.” Think about how guests physically move between spaces.

    • Ask for a detailed running order. The venue has a dedicated events team, which is a big advantage, but make sure you establish who is actually coordinating what on the day: supplier arrivals, flowers, cake, speeches, music, room turnaround, confetti, evening food etc.

    • Have the menu tasting work hard for you. The current wedding offering includes a complimentary tasting with wines. Use it not only to pick your favourite dishes but to discuss dietary requirements, children’s meals, evening food and the timing of courses around speeches.

    • Think carefully about the sound and lighting. The Function Room’s character is beautiful, but your DJ/band and photographer will have different requirements from your ceremony. Ask the venue and suppliers about power, speaker positioning, microphones and when lighting changes happen.

    • Don’t feel obliged to use a “wedding look.” One Warwick Park explicitly allows couples to choose their own suppliers, so take advantage of that. A strong florist, stationery design and carefully chosen table styling can make the room feel very personal.

    • Plan a proper guest experience between ceremony and dinner. The Atrium, bar and terrace give you options for drinks and mingling. I’d rather have guests enjoying themselves somewhere interesting than standing around waiting for the wedding breakfast to start.

    • Consider the town-centre logistics. Tunbridge Wells station is roughly a 10-minute walk away, with direct services to London Charing Cross and London Bridge. That’s excellent for London-based guests, but I’d still give everyone clear information about parking and overnight arrangements.

One thing I’d definitely ask the venueBefore you finalise everything, ask:“If you were planning our wedding at One Warwick Park, what are the three things you’d recommend we do differently from most couples?” The staff will know the venue’s quirks better than anyone—and that question is likely to produce much more useful information than another generic planning meeting. Also, the venue has introduced Twilight Weddings and a Boutique Wedding Package, so if you’re still deciding on the format rather than simply looking for day-of advice, it’s worth comparing those options with a traditional full-day wedding. The Twilight option currently starts with a 3pm ceremony and is designed around a more relaxed afternoon/evening flow.
